GLN Singapore

Our church back home adopted the Trinity Christian Centre carecell model a couple of years back. Now we are in full swing implementing this carecell model and I am glad that our home church is investing in us by sending us down south to Singapore to learn. This is my third trip here to learn about from TCC.

I must says that every time that I am here, I am blessed, both spiritually and also 'physically'. They never fails to feed us with good food and up to five time a day! Well, feed the soldier well before they go for war! :)

DSC01231

However, I believe coming down for this conference is more than just learning about the model, techniques and tools but the spirit behind serving and ministry is very important. I asked myself, why this model works? Is this the only carecell model? Can't I learn all this back at home?

DSC01227

However, the whole 3 days that I had spend here change the way how I look at ministry. I believe, we are in ministry because it's a privilege to partner with God and serve Him! Do I want to miss out this opportunity to serve and partner with Him in the ministry of reconciliation that He has entrusted us?

DSC01244

I also asked myself other countless questions such as how should I serve as a servant leader yet I leave a good impact and lasting impression among my member? How can I do thing differently if I am given a choice to change things? Where do I picture myself to be in 5 years time? What else can I serve Him?

For those who read this, I leave this thought with you, how can you serve Him differently using all the give that He has given you? Our blessing comes by releasing and using things that He has blessed us with and equipped us!

2009 Easter March, Kajang

Biannually Easter march was held on Saturday itself.

The march was earlier on publish in The Star newspaper.

Easter March in Kajang

By GEETHA KRISHNAN

A CROWD of 2,000 is expected to participate in the 2009 Easter March in Kajang on Saturday.

The march is a combined effort of 23 main and independent churches of various denominations around the Hulu Langat district. The aim is to seek God’s blessings, protection and provision for the district, the state of Selangor and the nation as a whole, with emphasis on unity and good governance.

Themed “One Body, One Spirit, One Lord”, the march will start at 3pm at the Holy Family Church on Jalan Gereja after an opening prayer. It will end at 6pm following one hour of prayer, worship and fellowship at the Holy Family Hall.

For a good cause: Around 1,900 people participated in the 2007 Easter March around Kajang.

Organising committee chairman pastor V. Ravichandran said the route would cover Jalan Gereja, Jalan Bukit, Jalan Semenyih, Jalan Mendaling and the town centre with the crowd stopping at various spots to pray.

He also said priests, pastors and church elders would lead the march, which was open to all, young and old. The colour code for the afternoon will be red T-shirts.

“In the past marches, we were grateful for the police support we received to help control the crowd and to march in an orderly manner without disrupting traffic. We hope for similar support this year and would like to thank the force in advance,” he added.

The 2009 Easter March will be the 14th of its kind. It was held annually but since 2005, the march has been held biennially. The march was initiated by the Kajang Assembly of God (KAOG).

However, come on that day the turned out wasn't as expected in the newspaper but non-the-less disappointing. We had a turn out 1, 240 people from 26 participating churches around Hulu Langat.

IMG_6758

The Easter march had started annually aimed to pray for the town of Kajang and also for the state of Selangor and the nation. We believe we have to pray for our town and nation, for peace and also for prosperity .

IMG_6777

As usual, we started the march with a time of worship in the Church of Holy Family in Kajang. After that, we start to march about 3.45pm with the help of the Kajang Police to control the traffic.

IMG_6772

In the beginning, it was scorching hot, but when we started to march, there were clouds and the weather was just so good. The rain did not come as how many expected but just a few drops toward the end of the march.

IMG_6782

We sang and pray along the way throughout the march around Kajang town. It was just such an awesome experience and time. The march also bring some euphoria to many people and this is what you get too...

IMG_6779

Anyway, during the Easter march, we literally and physically paint town red!

The Scrooge is back

Today, our KOAG Christmas Production, The Dream, is feature in The Star Newspaper.

If you have not read it, do get a copy today. Here is the synopsis of the drama as quoted from the paper.

MOST of us are acquainted with a character called Ebenezer Scrooge in the
Charles Dickens’ novel, A Christmas Carol.A miserly and miserable man who
despises Christmas, Scrooge is given the golden opportunity to redeem himself
after visits from the three Ghosts of Christmas, Ghost of Christmas Past, Ghost
of Christmas Present and Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come.70s dance moves:
Children and youth of the Kajang Assembly of God performing to a song from the
movie, Saturday Night Fever. The Kajang Assembly of God’s upcoming Christmas
presentation, The Dream, shares a common premise with Dicken’s novel where a
tight-fisted man changes his ways after a disturbing dream.Pivotal characters in
the production are the penny-pinching sundry shop owner, Wong Ah Leong (played
by Ng Kon Leong) and his hard-working nephew, Ah Kow (Ang Khai Chung).“Christmas
is around the corner but Ah Leong is far from happy. He continues oppressing
those around him who are in need and refuses to lend to the poor,” said producer
Leona Lim.“Ah Kow may be dependent on him for a living but Ah Leong cannot
understand why his nephew, who has a crippled child, is always joyful.”One
night, Ah Leong has a dream. Flashbacks show why he becomes bitter and blames
God for his calamities. The 90-minute production is the biggest ever to be staged
by the KAOG with a RM10,000 budget.Where are my dues?: Wong (left) questioning
Velu. Set in circa 70s Kajang, The Dream uses stage presence, special effects
and multimedia technology for a quality production. The drama scenes are
interspersed with well choreographed dance routines with the participation of
church members of varying groups and ages, namely Sonshine Kids, Powerhouse and
Ekklesia. The little performers of Tadika Anak Seri Cahaya will also take to the
stage.“The Dream will be staged on Dec 19 and 20 at 8pm at the KAOG, 52, Jalan
Timur, Kajang. Admission is free but the doors close at 7.45pm.For enquiries,

Living my Dream!

Let you know one of my childhood dream...that is to be an actor.

Come on! Who doesn't want to lead the glamorous life of an actor or actress when you grow up? I know a lot of my friends who wanted to be celebrity or some sort of it when they grow up!

Yesterday, I had a taste of it, to be an actor, the nearest I can!
This year Christmas production is on the way and we were in downtown KL to shoot a scene of sundry shop. I am a sundry shop worker! What can I say, when my I grew up as a sundry shop keeper. Once, I had to run a sundry shop when I was in my secondary school!
So, yesterday morning, I was in KL Chinatown, trying my best to be one on screen!
Do I look like one? Eh... I am not the rubbish cleaner. I just borrowed the cart! I was transporting some goods! Can't u see??This is where I work! Well, my boss is Mr Chop!

Come to his shop, and you will be chopped!! Then, we made our way to Cheras, to shoot another scene which was supposed to be my home!

Ah! I wonder how the movie will turn up later. I can't imagine myself in all the clothing! I am so old! And this is supposed to be my family. Now I have a child! errr....And whose wedding photo is that on the right?

Anyway, we have a good time. There are more and I will show it you on the next post. As for now, I have to get ready to go to studio for voice recording!

KAOG's Got Talents

Recent weekend was one of the busiest I have in 3 months. My day was packed with meeting and appointment to keep up! And this week is also our audition weekend ala American Idol style! Okie maybe not but there was line waiting to go into the audition hall! While the American Idol line runs to kilometers long, ours is better... a 100 meter long! ahh...but again, there was A LINE!!! Or maybe at least two! TWO...Wow! I am so proud of it!
We started about 2pm. Auditon for singers and carolers were brought to the other rooms and in the main hall, we have all the main cast! Velu was the first to come in! We have a good time and he entertain us with his head twisting speech and great emotions! We were seated in the America's Got Talents style but we are no where near that! What we try to do is to give them the background of the characters and emotions involve!
This two children really were great and they really can act!
Pau Soh too entertain us with her act and dramatic style of the characters! So much so that our judge just have to get up and play along with the characters!
Ahhh... him? our Kai lo! Ya lar! Who else? I know, this Kai Lo is more modern with bluetooth headset stuck to his ear, but cannot meh?
But then again, I think if we were to play the host to American Idols or America's Got Talent, the show will shoot up the ceiling! It's so popular that everybody who comes, got a role to play!
So, stay tune for more to come!
