Bukit Tinggi Part B

As I have promised, I am bringing you the second part of the trip to Bukit Tinggi.
From the botanical garden, we just take a brisk walk across to the Japanese Garden.

Nevertheless, it is quite a distance though we didn’t feel it. Along the way, we pass beautiful flowers and patches of garden. Ah…flora and fauna at its best!

mosses..

Huge ...about 1 feet long

The walk up the Japanese Garden is wonderful.

View from the top of Japanese Garden!

I love this place. I enjoy the walk in this Garden. Further in, we can rent kimono and walk around in the garden for photography too. Nope, we didn’t rent it because I think it’s a waste of money.

However, this time, I am very disappointed with this place. The pond where they once have water flowing and full with Japanese koi fishes is now dry. The other pond which is further up is murky and rarely can see the fishes in it. Look at the color of the water…

look more like grass then anything else...

murky water

We spend some time walking around the Japanese garden before leaving to the Rabbit park which is a distance away.

Here are some of the pictures taken there.

We actually brought some bread to eat while we are up in Bukit Tinggi. But sad to say Berjaya Resort has a ‘no picnic’ policy here. What a waste. If not, it will be so nice to enjoy the food while enjoy the not so cool air… needless to say, I still go on eating my sandwiches as I stroll in the botanical garden and the Japanese garden…

redness... look nice for food...salad anyone???

Food here is so expensive and I can’t afford to pay for it. And my stomach is already growling…

Cute...I love rabbit, did I tell you earlier?

From Japanese garden, we made our way down to the Rabbit park…I drove pass this place as they have some construction going on beside it. I just miss it! and have to make a u-turn! No signboard to indicate the rabbit park is near too!

Rabbit park is also not well maintained. The rabbit population is going down…

I went in and play with some of the rabbit in there. They have some for us to pet. The children love this place so much, needless to explain why!

Beside the rabbit park, there is also the deer enclosure and the donkey. You can also find the archery range here.

deer...dear???

donkey anyone???

Soon, it is about time for us to leave, we make our way down hill. Along the way, we stop by a stable. I just want to take some pictures with the horses and if the ride is cheap, I want to go a horse ride too. But, they want to charge us RM3 for the entry! I can’t believe it. After paying RM16 to enter into the French theme resort, I have to pay another RM3 just to look at the horses. Riding it will cost me more! So, I left disappointed. VERY disappointed.

Horsie... I will come back to visit you soon!

There is something about me with horses. I LOVE horses. I always wanted to learn how to ride… but anyway, back to this post. We left Bukit Tinggi after that brief stop.

Along the way, we decided to make a detour to Bentong for Kow Po Ice Kacang @ ABC. This small town is smaller than Kajang town where I stay but it seems they do draw a lot of crowd. A lot celebrity comes here for their homemade ice cream. It is rich but I don’t think it’s worth coming all the way here for the ABC.

This stall is just located beside the shell station opposite the bus station. You can see this shop from the main road.

So, from there, we just head straight home, tired but happy!

Formula One Grand Prix

I was able to attend the 2 leg of the 2008 Formula 1 race here in Sepang Circuit, thanks to the INTI University College for sponsoring about 100 staffs and also 200 students. We were allocated the seat at the K1 grandstand, and I must say, this is an exciting place to view the race.

Located at the first corner, we can see all the F1 cars racing into the corner at the start of the race.

Here are some of the pictures. I will put up more soon.

Bukit Tinggi, Pahang. (Part A)

I love traveling. I don’t mind visiting a place where I have been for many times. The sense of getting away from the hectic life, leaving behind the ‘a second fight for a second life’ lifestyle is bliss. At least for me!

I always jump on the opportunity of having a break when time permit. And the countryside is the best. I enjoy driving using the trunk road at times, compare to the highway because I can enjoy the scenery and passing through different town that still have the old charm. However, driving using trunk road will normally takes you twice the time you spend on the road compare to driving at the highway.

Anyway, traveling places… I love and enjoy every minutes of it.

I took a break to Bukit Tinggi recently for a day break with my wife and in-laws. Bukit Tinggi is located along the Titiwangsa Range and it is just about 1 hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. This place is famous for its French theme style hill resort. To get to this place, drive along the Karak Highway towards Kuantan. You will come to the rest area after the tunnel. The exit to Bukit Tinggi is the next exit after the rest area. Road sign to this hill resort is clearly visible along the highway. Develop by the Berjaya Group; this place is a good place for getaway over the weekend. And I have been there for the 4th time.

To get into the French village, we have to pay RM16 which includes the visit to Colmar Tropical, Japanese Garden, Botanical Garden and the Rabbit Farm.

The first sight that great us when we reach the French village is this!

Apparently, these two birds flew all the way from Alsace, French and find this little town a good place to call home. Since then, they have dominated this fountain.

They even built a giant hall and a huge car park to accommodate the number of tourists they expected to visit this hill resort. But every time I Bukit Tinggi, it is always deserted. It never surprises me why this time.

From the entrance, this French theme style village or known as Colmar Tropical look like a castle. They built a bridge leading into the building with four giant towers and a gateway. However, this is not a draw bridge which was used in the olden days to keep the charging army away.

Road leading into the Colmar Tropical is built of cobbler stone and on both side of the street; they have flags of different colors lining up. There is also a small garden which is wonderfully design and up keep; that the flowers are booming. There is also a waterfall but sadly, it’s polluted as there are lot of forms.

Once you are inside Colmar Tropical, you will be greeted with sight on street café and shops.

There are shops selling different products and offering some activities in this, if not, dead and boring hill resort. You can try out your artistic skills at the shop selling figurines made of French plaster or head towards the video arcade. Inside, you also can find a souvenir shop, a bakery and some cafés.

You can also climb up a watch tower to view the whole village and Bukit Tinggi from there.

Look at the color roof tiles. I love it but this remind me of cartoon townships, which I used to watch in cartoon when I am young.

But one of the things I saw from here is also very disturbing!

They left whole swarm of bees making its hive there. This is a tourist place and for goodness sake, this hive is found in front of a balcony of a room. Imagine is somebody were to disturb it or if it suddenly fall, what harm will it caused to all tourist at this place. I can’t imagine they left it to grow!

Maybe Berjaya need some money from selling the honey!

You can spend you time walking around this place, taking time to feel the fresh air or take a look at the flowers planted around the area. There are 4 geese within the vicinity but sad to say, they didn’t clean the pond.

If you are full of energy you can try pulling the horse carriage too!

If not you can play guard at the entrance with the standing armor and miniature cannon.

Then, you can drive or take the transport provided to the Japanese Garden and botanical garden.

This place is built incorporating heavy Japanese design in it.

A walk at the botanical garden is very entertaining with funny names of the tree.

Here are some of the pictures taken at the botanical garden

You can read and relax at the botanical garden too

I will bring you the second part of the visit to Bukit Tinggi later.
